Help people understand your mission, find your programs, and get involved. I build and support WordPress websites for nonprofits, churches, and community organizations with real work to do and limited time to manage a website.
Make your mission easier to understand and support
Your visitors may be donors, volunteers, members, students, or people looking for help. They should be able to recognize what your organization does and find the information that matters to them quickly.
I help turn a collection of pages, documents, and updates into a clear structure your team can maintain. That might mean a redesign, a move to WordPress, or ongoing care for a site that already serves you well.
Nonprofit and church projects from my portfolio

PCSAS
A WordPress rebuild and ongoing support for the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System, a nonprofit accrediting clinical psychology doctoral programs.
PCSAS: support that continues after the redesign
PCSAS needed continuity when its existing technical support arrangement was ending. I moved the site to WordPress and managed hosting, reorganized information for its audiences, and supported the member review area. The work continued with newsletter archives, search indexing fixes, and access changes during a leadership transition.
Some deeper PHP work involved collaboration with the previous IT contact. The PCSAS case study describes those contributions and the ongoing relationship. For a small organization, having someone who understands the site can matter as much as the launch itself.
Related community and education projects
My broader community work also includes Bloomington Pickleball Club, where local players find courts, events, and community, and Anyone Can Achieve, a mentoring program supporting minority students with ambitious career goals. These are relevant examples of organizing information around participation and access.
Design around the people you serve
Programs, resources, and impact
Clear program pages explain who you help, what you offer, and how someone can participate. Staff biographies, leadership information, reports, and approved stories of your work give visitors concrete reasons to trust your organization.
Clear routes to donate, volunteer, or join
We identify the actions that matter to your mission and make them easy to find. Donation links, volunteer inquiries, event information, or membership tools can be included in the agreed scope, using systems that fit your organization.
Accessible content and a consistent identity
Readable type, clear contrast, descriptive links, and logical headings help a wider audience use your site. I can also help bring your logo, photography, and page layouts into a consistent visual system that supports the mission.
WordPress blocks your team can use
Reusable Gutenberg layouts make program updates, announcements, and resource pages more manageable. We plan editing responsibilities and provide a walkthrough so the website does not depend on one person remembering how everything works.
Hosting and continuity
Managed hosting and WordPress support are available for maintenance and ongoing changes. We can also review domains, access, and existing integrations as part of a transition.
Questions before we start
Can you work with a small nonprofit team?
Yes. We can prioritize the pages and tasks that matter most, then scope a manageable first phase. The PCSAS project is an example of working with a small organization that needed ongoing technical continuity.
Can you keep our donation or membership platform?
We start by reviewing what already works. In many cases, the website can link to or integrate with an existing platform. Any integration work and provider fees are discussed during scoping.
Can staff update the site after launch?
Yes. WordPress block layouts and a walkthrough support routine edits. We agree on who needs access and which changes staff want to handle, with ongoing support available.
Can you move our existing resources and archives?
Content migration can be part of the project. We inventory what needs to move, plan redirects where URLs change, and check important links and documents before launch.
Work directly with Dave Martin
I’m Dave Martin, a web designer and developer in Bloomington, Indiana. I built my first website in 1998 and established David Martin Design in 2004. My nonprofit experience includes the PCSAS rebuild and continuing support, along with parish and community websites. I explain the technical decisions so your team can make informed choices about its website.
Is your website supporting your mission?
Tell me what your organization does, who needs to use the site, and where it is getting in the way. We’ll work out a practical next step.
